Planning a trip to Myrtle Beach but don’t know what to pack? Read this post for The Best Myrtle Beach Summer Packing List!
Earlier this year, I took a short solo trip to Myrtle Beach for NYE to wish 2020 farewell. And boy.. was that a mistake! Winter isn’t usually the best time to visit this resort city as a tourist. While I was there, it was pretty much raining the entire time so I couldn’t really spend any leisure time on the beach. However, I figured that if I were to ever visit Myrtle Beach again, I would probably need a Myrtle Beach Summer Packing List to get my travel plans in order.
In this post, I’ve put together a list of essential items you must bring if you’re planning to visit Myrtle Beach in the summer.
Sunglasses (myrtle beach summer packing list)
You’re definitely going to need a pair of sunglasses for your trip to Myrtle Beach! I personally would recommend the Ray-Ban brand for women since they’re high quality and well-known. However, if these are completely out of your price range, you could also buy a cheap pair from QUAY Australia. The sunglasses will definitely come in handy while you’re relaxing at the beach, on the boardwalk or on the pier.
Beach Blanket (myrtle beach summer packing list)
A beach blanket will definitely come in handy if you’re planning to sit on the sand. This oversized beach blanket can fit up to 7 people, giving you ample space to spread out your belongings. This blanket is also sand proof, quick drying, and lightweight.
Sunscreen (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Coppertone is by far one of the most trusted brands for sunscreen on Amazon. With an SPF of 50, this spray will help protect your skin from 98% of the sun’s most damaging UV rays. Not only is it water-resistant but it also leaves your skin feeling cool and moisturized. Feel free to pack more than one with you on your trip to Myrtle Beach. You’ll never know if you’ll need an extra one as you reapply it throughout the day.
VMB Discount Card (myrtle beach summer packing list)
A VMB or a Vacation Member Benefits discount card is a card that offers guest discounts or deals for people who stay at these 14 Myrtle Beach Resorts. This card is simply free for guests during check-in and there’s no limit on how many times you can use it. Check out this site to see a list of participating locations throughout the Myrtle Beach area.
Comfortable Shoes (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Vans are clearly a summer staple for a good reason! They’re comfortable, cheap, and they go with everything. Make sure to pack yourself some Vans for your trip to Myrtle Beach. Wearing these will help lessen the amount of pressure placed on your feet as you walk along the boardwalk.
Sun Hat (myrtle beach summer packing list)
What more do you need than a fashionable sun hat? I personally would recommend this hat I found on Amazon! It has an adjustable hat size reducer, it’s made from high-quality paper straw and it’s super cute! This hat is also the perfect accessory to pack for your trip since its foldable and tight knit. With a wide-brim hat like this, your face, scalp, neck, shoulders, and upper back will be protected from the sun.
Baby Powder (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Baby powder is useful on any beach trip since it’s one of the best ways to remove sand between your toes or other parts of the body. Feel free to check out this Johnson’s baby powder on Amazon! It really hits the spot, leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth.
Hand Sanitizer (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Hand sanitizer is a must if you’re planning on going on any amusement rides like the Skywheel! I love these Purell hand sanitizers I found on Amazon because they come with their own jelly wrap carrier. Having this with your hand sanitizer makes it super convenient for you to pull it out and use it!
Selfie Stick (myrtle beach summer packing list)
If you’re traveling solo, you can’t forget about the selfie stick! This selfie stick on Amazon comes with a tripod that you can set remotely to take your picture. It’s compatible with all smartphones (iPhone/Android) and with the remote control, you can take a photo in one click! Feel free to use this selfie stick to get an awesome shot of yourself on the beach or on the pier.
Water Bottle (myrtle beach summer packing list)
A collapsible water bottle will definitely come in handy as you’re packing for Myrtle Beach! Not only will it help you save some space, but it’s also leak-proof and easy to clean. You’re going to need this water bottle as you’re walking about on the beach, parched and sweaty.
First Aid Kit (myrtle beach summer packing list)
First Aid Kits are definitely a must for Myrtle Beach! You never know if you’re ever going to get hurt out of nowhere. It’s good to have a small supply of bandages with you as well as some antiseptic wipes.
Sundresses (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Sundresses are the perfect attire for a trip to Myrtle Beach! Don’t forget to pack a couple of them for the perfect outfit. I personally love this sundress I found on Amazon. It’s cute, short, and very feminine.
Beach Umbrella (myrtle beach summer packing list)
This beach umbrella is a must if you plan on relaxing on the beach for an extended period of time. It’s sturdy with a stable frame and it comes with its own carry-on bag, making it super portable to bring around.
Beach Towel (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Make sure to pack a beach towel that’s light and portable! I really love these towels I found on Amazon! They’re vibrant, colorful and of high-quality.
Bathing Suit (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Don’t forget to pack a bathing suit that suits your style! If you’re looking for one to buy, I personally like this bathing suit I found above and from what I know it’s definitely an Amazon favorite.
Durable Flip-Flops (myrtle beach summer packing list)
Durable flip-flops are also a must for your trip! I really love these cheap ones I found on Amazon and for the most part the reviews look really good. Make sure you get the size that truly fits your feet. If your flip-flops are too big, they’ll easily just fall right off.
Beach Chair (myrtle beach summer packing list)
And…last but not least.. you need to pack a beach chair! This beach chair on Amazon is durable, lightweight, and it only weighs 7.5 lbs. It comes with backpack straps, making it easy to lug around and a folding towel bar to hang your wet towel. You can also lay flat on the chair or sit up. This chair is super convenient for any trip to the beach.
Overall, I hope this Myrtle Beach Summer Packing List was helpful to you in some way shape or form! What’s your opinion on it overall? Is there anything else I should add? Let me know in the comments down below!
