As someone who has spent some time at Oktoberfest, the hostel you choose to stay at really does make or break your experience. Now, don’t get me wrong, hostels are simply just a place for you to sleep at but, they’re also the place you can stay at to connect with other travelers in your vicinity. For instance, I for one was planning on going to Oktoberfest by myself but it was nice to know that I was staying at a hostel that was “A: nearby the event” and “B: filled with other travelers who were also planning to go there too”.

The A&O Hostel München Hauptbahnhof is a great hostel to stay at in Munich near Oktoberfest! The hostel itself is only 0.2 miles away from Munich’s Central Station so if you’re taking the train to Oktoberfest you won’t need to walk far. In fact, the walk to the Theresienwiese (Oktoberfest) from the hostel is only about 5 minutes, giving you all the time in the day to get drunk and walk back home in minutes.
Another thing that’s also important to note about this hostel is the fact that if you arrive there by car there is parking. The A&O Hostel München Hauptbahnhof has an underground garage that guests can use which is definitely a plus since parking in the city center can be rough.
So, if you’re looking for a hostel to stay at in Munich for Oktoberfest, I highly recommend staying at the A&O Hostel München Hauptbahnhof. Check-in starts at 3pm there and they also offer Late Check-Out until 2pm.

The CVJM Youth Hostel Munich is another great hostel to stay at in Munich near Oktoberfest! The hostel itself offers reasonably priced accommodation for solo travelers and groups and it’s a great place to stay if you’re looking for a friendly atmosphere. In fact, since 2017, the hostel now offers twin, triple and quadruple rooms with an in-unit bathroom and AC. This is such a plus since the weather gets really hot around Oktoberfest so it’ll be nice to have a cool room to come back to afterwards.
Another thing that’s also important to note about this hostel is the fact that they offer an extensive buffet that’s included in the price. This will come in handy when you’re in need of breakfast in the morning because it’ll just be a short walk down the stairs.
So, if you’re looking for a hostel to stay at in Munich for Oktoberfest, I highly recommend staying at the CVJM Youth Hostel Munich. The hostel is right in the center of Munich and the train station is only a 5 minute walk away.
Wombat’s City Hostel Munich Hauptbahnhof (hostels in munich near oktoberfest)
The Wombat’s City Hostel Munich Hauptbahnhof is another great hostel to stay at in Munich near Oktoberfest! The hostel itself is the only one in the city that combines style with location, making it very pleasing to the eyes of many guests. Inside, you’ll find a glassed-in courtyard and friendly staff who are ready to help you with whatever you need.
Another thing that’s also important to note about this hostel is the fact that every room has its own private shower and toilet. This is a plus since you won’t have to share a bathroom with the whole floor and it comes in handy when you need to use it at night.

The HI Munich Park Youth Hostel is another great hostel to stay at in Munich near Oktoberfest! Located close to Munich’s Zoo, the hostel can be found near the river Isar recreation area at the south of the city center. As for the amenities, the hostel includes free breakfast as well as a 24-hour front desk. These are pluses since you won’t have to worry about breakfast in the morning as well as coming back from Oktoberfest at a certain time.

Wombat’s City Hostel Munich Werksviertel (hostels in munich near oktoberfest)
The Wombat’s City Hostel Munich Werksviertel is another great hostel to stay at in Munich near Oktoberfest! It’s located in the most exciting part of the city, Werksviertel, which used to be a factory site as well as an amusement park. In fact, since then, Werksviertel has now grown to become a dynamic, young, and urban district with event locations, bars, and boutique shops located all around the Ostbahnhof station.
I for one had the opportunity to stay at this hostel when I was at Oktoberfest and I will say it was definitely worth it. There’s a Ferris Wheel located right nearby the building and I also the opportunity to meet some very cool people in my room.
So, if you’re looking for a hostel to stay at in Munich for Oktoberfest, I highly recommend staying at the Wombat’s City Hostel Munich Werksviertel. They will give you a wristband so that you can access the hostel in and out very easily and it’s only a short U-Bahn ride to Oktoberfest.
