Pink Street (most instagrammable places in lisbon)
Pink Street is one of the best photo spots you can visit in Lisbon! Situated in Cais do Sobre, Pink Street is home to some of the best bars in Lisbon. The official name of the street is Rua Nova do Carvalho and it used to be Lisbon’s Red-Light District. So, in other words, Pink Street was the place for gambling, prostitution, and drinking.
In fact, you’re probably wondering how Rua Nova do Carvalho, the Red-Light District, turned pink. Well, the painting actually started 10 years ago to be precise and it was done by 2013. The purpose behind painting the street pink stemmed from gentrification. And, as of right now, it’s definitely working. The Pink Street has replaced the shady nightlife on Rua Nova do Carvalho and turned it hip.
So, if you’re planning on visiting this photo spot for the first time in Lisbon, I highly recommend it. To locate it, go to R. Nova do Carvalho, 1200-370 Lisboa, Portugal!
Fado Graffiti Wall (most instagrammable places in lisbon)
The Fado Graffiti Wall is another great photo spot you can visit in Lisbon! Situated in the Alfama District, the mural “Fado Vadio” is a tribute to fado in one of the many areas that developed it. Fado, for more context, is Lisbon’s iconic music genre. You can hear this musical genre played from the small bars of Bairro Alto and the Alfama District.
In fact, the graffiti also started as a project of the Movimento dos Amigos de São Cristóvão, a small group of people living in the area who got together to improve and embellish the neighborhood with the help of talented artists.
In addition, the decrepit building where the “Fado Vadio” was painted agreed to the project since it had no money to restore it themselves. The project took about 2 days to complete and the final product was a masterpiece.
So, if you’re planning on visiting this photo spot for the first time in Lisbon, I highly recommend it. To locate it, go to Escadinhas de São Cristóvão 14, 1100-213 Lisboa, Portugal.

The Miradouro de Santa Luzia is another great photo spot in Lisbon, Portugal! Situated next to the Church of St. Lucy, Miradouro de Santa Luzia is a serene viewpoint that introduces visitors and locals alike to Lisbon’s Old Town, Alfama. In fact, as a landscaped terrace, it is also one of the most romantic spots in the city. So, in other words, don’t be surprised if your Portuguese date takes you up here. If it’s really serene in the morning, imagine how romantic it would be at night.
In addition, once you’re at the viewpoint, you’ll also be able to see the trams that pass by as well as the magnificent decorative tiles, the garden and the pond.

Elevador da Bica (most instagrammable places in lisbon)
Elevador da Bica is another great photo spot you can visit in Lisbon! Situated north of TimeOut Market, Elevador da Bica is known as the most photographed funicular in the city. This is due to the fact that there is a dramatic contrast between the steep route of the funicular and the river in the background.
In fact, the funicular itself also connects the Rua de São Paulo with Calçada do Combro and the Rua do Loreto. So, if you need a quick ride up to Rua do Loreto, Elevador da Bica is at your service. However, if you choose to walk, proceed with caution. The ascent to the top is definitely for the hardy.
In the end, if you’re planning on visiting this photo spot for the first time in Lisbon, I highly recommend it. To locate it, go to Rua de S. Paulo 234, 1200-109 Lisboa, Portugal.

The Arch Corridors in Praca do Comercio is another great photo spot you can visit in Lisbon! Known as one of the largest squares in Europe, the grand square is surrounded by yellow Pombaline styled buildings where people can walk around and take pictures.
In fact, the grand square is better known as Terreiro do Paco to locals since it was where the palace used to stand before the earthquake in 1755.
In addition, back then, Praca do Comercio reflected the wealth and ambitions of Portugal during the late 18th century. This was due to the fact that many captains and merchants would plan their voyages in the square for the purposes of trading.
So, if you’re planning on visiting this photo spot for the first time in Lisbon, I highly recommend it. To locate it, go to Praça do Comércio 3, 1100-148 Lisboa, Portugal.
History of Lisbon Mural by Nuno Saraiva (most instagrammable places in lisbon)
The History of Lisbon Mural is another great photo spot in Lisbon, Portugal! Hidden beneath a beautiful overlook, the History of Lisbon Mural depicts the history of the city in a comic strip. It was created by muralist Nuno Saraiva who wanted to use the mural to illustrate Lisbon’s foundation to recent times.
In fact, the mural starts with the Phoenicians founding the city they called Ulissipo, now Lisbon. It then continues with the Portuguese Inquisition and the devastating earthquake of 1755. The mural then finally ends with the Carnation Revolution of 1974.
Although, a lot has happened in Lisbon since that revolution, the artist decided to end the mural with that event for many reasons. In fact, if you look at the mural today, there isn’t much more room left for the artist to paint anyways.
So, if you’re planning on visiting this photo spot for the first time in Lisbon, I highly recommend it. To locate it, go to R. Norberto de Araújo 14 18, 1100-117 Lisboa, Portugal.
Labirinto Lisboa (most instagrammable places in lisbon)
The Labirinto Lisboa is another great photo spot you can visit in Lisbon! In the city, it’s a horror house with its own Portuguese identity that scares and entertains many locals and tourists alike.
However, after doing some quick research on this spot, it is now permanently closed. I’m not entirely sure when it closed down specifically but the laybrinth still stands as a great photo spot today.
On the side of the building, you’ll notice a beautiful mural of a colorful fox. Many tourists tend to take pictures in front of it due to its rarity and allure.
So, if you’re planning on visiting this photo spot for the first time in Lisbon, I highly recommend it. To locate it, go to R. do Instituto Industrial 6, 1200-225 Lisboa, Portugal.
