From low mountain ranges to the highest of them all, the mountains in Germany have much to offer for every traveler looking for a view. I unfortunately did not get a chance to explore the mountains while I was living in Deutschland but I have heard great things about the country’s geographical landscape.
For one thing, Germany has it all from its low, flat windswept beaches on its coastline in the north to the Alpine peaks on the border with Switzerland. Anything steeper than a hill can be found in the south, with the Harz mountains of Lower Saxony and Saxony Anhalt being the furthest north. Things however get more impressive the further south you go which is where you will come across the Bavarian Alps.
So, if you’re looking to figure out which mountains you should explore in Germany, keep reading! This post alone highlights the most majestic mountains you can visit in Germany as well as what makes each one unique.
