Finding cheap flights isn’t as hard as people might think. In fact, the hack I’m about to share with you is how I fly around the world for $100 or less! I actually learned this hack from a travel influencer last year during a webinar. So I figured… if this is helping me.. why not share the knowledge with someone else. There are so many women out there who are delaying their travel plans due to a lack of funds. It’s about time women started taking charge of their lives and their passports. This post will show you exactly how to travel around the U.S. for $100 or less.
The first thing you must do is buy all of your flights from Skyscanner.com! I would suggest following this hack on a desktop device before you read on because everything will look super different on a mobile device. If you’re reading this blog post on your phone, you can simply open it on a laptop nearby you. Before I knew about this hack I used to buy all of my flights from Momondo, but now that I’m using Skyscanner, it has helped me save SO MUCH MORE MONEY. In fact, for my 23rd birthday, I even went to Chicago for just $50 ROUNDTRIP because this hack is REAL and IT WORKS!
Once you’re on Skyscanner’s home page, type in the airport code of the airport that is closest to you in the “From” search bar as seen as below! Since I live in Boston now, the closest airport to me would be Boston Logan International Airport so I typed “BOS” in the “From” search bar and Boston Logan International Airport was the first result!
Also, since this hack is all about cheap flights, in my opinion, I think it’s better to search for one-way trips instead of buying one whole round trip together. Although, you may have to go back and repeat this hack for your second one-way trip, buying them separately is WAY CHEAPER than buying two trips together. To search for a one-way trip make sure you choose this option above the “From” search bar as seen as below.
Afterward, if you’re not sure where you want to travel to at the moment, click into the “To” search bar and a drop-down should appear that says “Can’t Decide Where?”, click on it as seen as below.
Lastly, the next thing you’ll need to do is search by the cheapest month under economy for an adult. To do this, click on the “Depart” search bar. A dropdown menu should appear. When it does, click on the “Whole Month” tab and then the “Cheapest month” button underneath as seen as below. The search bar for “Cabin Class & Travelers” will automatically be filled out for 1 adult in Economy by default. If you want to change the number of adults traveling with you or if you’re traveling with kids you can simply change this by clicking on the dropdown arrow in the “Cabin Class & Travelers” tab.
Once all of these steps are complete, click on the green “Search flights” button, and you should get a ton of search results! As you can see below, the cheapest flight for me within the U.S. is only $11 dollars right now. ISN’T THAT CRAZY?! I could even go to Puerto Rico, Panama, and the U.S. Virgin Islands for under $100! The trips are endless.
Overall, what did you guys think of this cool travel hack? Leave a comment below to let me know if you tried it and where you plan to travel to next!
